King Rime's Palace

In the last 2 years, 28 year old Rime here , has built himself an entire house. it IS up a crazy hill, and the neighbours ARE grumpy, but inside the walls is a perfect fusion of tastefull Balaneese decor, yummy Japaneese food and a soundtrack of uk dubstep.i'm really happy to have spent time contributing to this handbuilt homestead. Rime is a man of many plans and hopefully i can get involved again someday.

I had to make the most of this chance i had to paint in such epic interiors.. These oval windows serve as beds AND seats as well as having built-in sexy ambient lighting to set the scene for whatever Rime has planned in his palace.. After all he is a king.

A hitchhikers tale.. klimt in the garden

Well i'm stoked that there is no public transport around the byron shire.. because it makes hitchiking that bit more accepted and safe.. as it should be everywhere in the world.
A nice man and his wife gave me a lift home one afternoon and we got talking about what on earth an english girl like me was doing in NSW. when i answered i realised i was becomming famous around mullumbimby and they were dead keen to get a bit of Faye Suzannah brushwork in their house before i left

copying an existing artwork isnt normally my style but these klimt colours and swirly details were TEDIOUS AS HELL and taught me a few things about tolerance

Good clean fun in Mullum wash house

The barefooted community of Mullumbimby has not only made me feel very at home over the last few months, but has provided me with more than enough public projects to make me feel valued here on the otherside of the world.

I painted as campervans were emptied into the toploader speed queen washers, and petuli oil, sand and salty waters were washed from the belongings of the transient owners.
I painted as permaculture gardeners zoned out watching the driers and munched silently on organic bananas.
I listened to local stories, and foreign tales, and also a bit of triple j radio, over the humm of the machines

If a laundrette is a good social barometer, then i've learnt everything there is to know about 2482NSW.... BUT ALSO... I've learnt that whilst riding the wave of life, it pays to just be nice, put your heart into what you do, and say thanks to the people that help you

Thanks Blue

A very public part of my Mullumbimby takeover can be seen on Stuart St outside gallery Casa Mexico. It's been so long since i painted outside i had forgotten the joy of talking to everybody who walks past!!. Soo happy to be back in this funny town and be able to walk around without my shoes on...
